Teterboro Plane Crash Causes Two Fatalities, Building and Car Damage
On Monday afternoon, a plane crash near the Teterboro Airport in Teterboro, New Jersey, caused two fatalities. Around 3:30 pm, the small jet aircraft was attempting a landing at the airport when it crashed into an industrial area of Carlstadt, New Jersey. The plane, carrying only a pilot and crew member, was traveling to the airport from Philadelphia. Three buildings caught on fire, and thirteen vehicles sustained damage due to the plane crash. The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash on Tuesday morning.
Although plane crashes may be rare occurrences, when they do occur, they can be catastrophic, and may leave excessive damage in their wake. In some cases, the plane may be poorly maintained or contain an unknown defect that causes a crash. The possibility exists that the pilot operating the plane may have lost control of the plane due to being under the influence of drugs or alcohol or becoming otherwise distracted.
