Barry R. Eichen Named a Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers Eichen Crutchlow Zaslow, LLP is proud to announce that Shareholder Barry R. Eichen has been selected as a Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers, for his work in Mass Torts/Class Action – Plaintiffs. This is the second time Mr. Eichen has been named a Lawyer of the Year; he was also selected in 2016.

Best Lawyers is exclusively peer-reviewed, meaning all honorees are nominated by their fellow attorneys. Their Lawyer of the Year awards are conferred on “individual lawyers with the highest overall peer-feedback for a specific practice area and geographic region. Only one lawyer is recognized as the ‘Lawyer of the Year’ for each specialty and location.” Mr. Eichen is this year’s award winner in the Woodbridge, NJ region, and one of only 49 attorneys selected in all of New Jersey.

Barry R. Eichen is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney representing classes and individuals throughout New Jersey in a wide array of personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death claims. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers (2013–present) for his work on behalf of plaintiffs in the areas of Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions and Medical Malpractice. He has also been recognized by Super Lawyers (2006–present), Nation’s Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, and as a Top 10 Personal Injury Attorney by Best of the Best Attorneys. He is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Mr. Eichen is also on the Board of Governors for the American Association for Justice.

Mr. Eichen has secured significant verdicts and settlement awards on behalf of his clients. He served on the New Jersey Fen-Phen Steering Committee, and helped obtain the national settlement of $3.75 billion. He has secured tens of millions of dollars against drug companies, including the manufacturers of Zetia and Vytorin, as well as against OSRAM Sylvania, Inc.

Mr. Eichen has also obtained millions of dollars on behalf of individual clients in New Jersey. Some of his more notable verdicts and awards include:

  • $19,200,000 for the widow of a New Jersey Transit worker who died of job-related lung disease.
  • $10,600,000 for a woman who was injured in a Ford Explorer rollover.
  • $9,600,000 obstetrical malpractice settlement on behalf of a family expecting twins; one baby died, and the other suffered severe brain damage.
  • $9,300,000 for a man who was paralyzed in a diving accident while on vacation in Cancun.
  • $4,900,000 settlement for the mother of a passenger who was killed in a car accident.
