NJ Jury Awards $8M to Woman Injured by Employees Chasing Suspected Shoplifter

Barry R. Eichen of Eichen Crutchlow Zaslow, LLP and Dean R. Maglione of The Maglione Firm secured an $8 million dollar verdict for 69-year-old woman Ilda Galo in a Premises Liability Case. A shoplifter outside of retail store Save Smart bumped into Mrs. Galo. She was then struck in the head by an untrained employee who was running after the shoplifter, causing Mrs. Galo to get pushed violently into the cement sidewalk receiving a subdural hematoma. The jury awarded $8 million for the plaintiff, finding Save Smart guilty for negligence.
